We had 20 couples from the Time for Marriage team together with guest couples attending in our Annual Conference in March 2012.
The theme was ‘Living as Children of Light’ taken from Ephesians 5:8. In Time for Marriage we’re passionate about couples discovering marriage as God intended it to look, and our challenge at the conference was are we living this out in our own marriages? How does it look to be shining God’s plan for marriage through our own marriages?
The founder of TfM, Richard Connor, used to tell us to ‘Just BE married’ and one of our favourite phrases is ‘walk the talk’.
Some examples of how this looks are:
• Making sure that having the humility & integrity to forgive is within our DNA.
• Making sure we’re accountable to each other.
• Being a clear witness of how marriage looks & passing that on that good news/inheritance to our children.
• Keeping sex exclusive to each other.
• Healthy communication.
We were delighted to have Richard Kane of National Marriage Week UK speak to us. He inspired us to get the message of God’s plan for marriage out further.
Naturally there was the usual fun stuff going on with lots of laughs, time to encourage each other & time to pray together too.
