Watch a flavour of our 2013 Conference here
Our conference was an amazing success; everyone attending had a fantastic time.
Luxury Accommodation
This year we were delighted to use a new venue – The Milton Hill House Hotel in Abingdon and the hotel was truly amazing, from the ambience to the feeling of being pampered. Candles lighting corridors in the evenings, beautifully presented delicious food, endless supplies of tea & coffee to be drunk on large comfy sofas, the leisure facilities (we LOVED the pool!); all in all gave us a great time.
We had lots of enthusiastic guests – a great mix of team couples & couples who support healthy marriages.
Fantastic Worship
As usual the best part was the time spent worshiping, learning, hearing from God and catching up together.
Core Values
We looked at what’s most important to Time for Marriage – our Core Values, we reminded ourselves about our passion; seeing God transforming marriages. As a team we’re committed to:
Being Word & Holy Spirit led – everything we do points to God.
Being Relational – we’re passionate about people & what happens to them on our weekends
Walking the Talk – what we do impacts people more than what we say. We want couples to see this in our marriages.
Teaching
Mal Calladine bought really helpful teaching on mentoring – who is looking after the next generation’s marriages? How do we help them move forward? Even when we get above a certain age it doesn’t mean God has done with us – ‘if you’re not dead, you’re not done’.
We enjoyed an interactive prophecy workshop and impacting teaching from Liz Evans of Bath City Church. It was fun and yet profound keeping us talking & wondering long into the evening.
Couples Stories
Another highlight was hearing from a couple who had just attended a weekend at our Harnhill venue a month before. God had totally transformed their marriage. They couldn’t get over how it had changed and were so excited they had straight away booked to come to the conference, wanting more of God in their marriage.
Fun
Laughter was key through the weekend especially as the hilarious Steve Legg wowed us with his magic tricks on the Saturday night.
Come Next Year
Next year’s conference is a celebration of our 40th anniversary – why not consider coming along?
